听顿别蝉肠谤颈辫迟颈辞苍:听 The scholarship aims to support and reward students interested in pursuing an occupational health and safety career in the mining industry upon graduation. James Milne Torlach (1938-2006) made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of safety and health in the mining industry in Western Australia, being responsible for the complete overhaul and modernisation of mine safety legislation culminating in the passage of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994. This perpetual scholarship honours his memory. The Jim Torlach Scholarship is sponsored by the Mining and Resource Contractors Safety Training Association (MARCSTA).
