Ìý¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:Ìý The scholarships were established in 1994 by the University of Newcastle to encourage and support students with demonstrated sporting ability and potential contribution to the sporting achievements of the university. The purpose of the scholarships is to improve the quality of university sporting teams and to establish a standard of excellence to complement the university's academic achievements.

Ìý·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²â:Ìý Applicants must: be enrolled in an approved degree or bridging program; be enrolled full-time; have attained an equivalent sporting standard in the previous 2 years of selection at district representative level in a sport for an under 17 or older age district team; have maintained a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4 or equivalent; and not have held this scholarship on more than one occasion previously. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated sporting ability, academic merit and commitment to the sporting achievements of the university. The selection committee will aim for a gender balance of recipients. Scholarship holders must join a University of Newcastle sports club and will be expected to represent the university at local, district and national level. Professional sports people are not eligible to apply.
