University Overview
Macquarie University is a modern, sophisticated and cosmopolitan leading provider of education in Australia which began in 1967. Macquarie is a university which prides itself on outstanding academic achievement and high quality research.
Macquarie University is located in the suburb of North Ryde, and is set on 135 hectares of bushland which includes a sculpture park, golf driving range, two hotels and many historical, scientific and cultural museums. The Macquarie University campus houses a Research Park which is well known and regarded.

Undergraduate
Macquarie University is a good place to study because it offers industry-relevant undergraduate degrees, provides students with overseas study and exchange opportunities in over 50 countries and has a vibrant campus life. In the undergraduate level, faculties include arts, business, human sciences, medicine and health sciences and science and engineering.
The study options offered at Macquarie include full-time, part-time, distance study, evening classes and mid-year starts. As for the entry requirements, Macquarie does not solely look at students ATAR ratings. Other pathway options are also available for students who have insufficient ATAR ratings. Macquarie also offers a range of scholarships for undergraduate students.
Postgraduate
Macquarie offers a range of postgraduate courses which can give graduate students the professional accreditation they need, the skills to explore their passion and the opportunity to launch their careers. There are two types of postgraduate study at Macquarie, postgraduate study by coursework and postgraduate study by research.
Available qualifications in the postgraduate coursework include masters, postgraduate diploma and postgraduate certificate. Study areas include business, education, engineering and it, environment, health and medical sciences, law and criminology, science and society, history and languages. Research programs can lead to two different research qualifications, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Study Online
Macquarie offers many undergraduate and postgraduate study online programs in fields such as the arts, human sciences, science, actuarial studies, history, business and finance and psychology. Macquarie also has connections with Open Universities Australia (OUA).
The Centre for Open Education (COE) assists students undertaking external units or courses, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees by distance education. COE provides advice and guidance and, where possible, liaises with other University staff on the student's behalf.
Students are provided with different learning resources such as mobile apps, learning programs, student forums and chatrooms, CD's, assignment folders and wall planners and diaries. They can interact with tutors through audio, video, chat, and other interactive tools.
International Students
Macquarie University runs a number of support programs that are specifically designed for overseas students. Pre-departure guidance is offered to help students make their arrival in Australia easy and stress-free. Scholarships
Macquarie offers a range of scholarships for undergraduate students. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and/or other hardship.
